15 Fun Jay Facts

  1. He’s been a lifelong musician (trumpet/flugelhorn) since 6th Grade, and has led and produced several bands in the Denver area

  2. Jay is an Eagle Scout and he and his wife started a Scouting group that is still going strong 27 years later 

  3. While a Scout leader, he and his Scouts slept in minus 27.5F degree weather ​

  4. He’s a father to 5 adult children and has 5 grandchildren

  5. He used to participate in competitive BBQ contests – winning an award for his ribs – but now BBQ’s for fun

  6. He is a Certified BBQ Judge with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS)

  7. Jay was an early member of the American Homebrewers Association (AHA)

  8. He and his wife are avid 4-wheel ATVers and love the Ouray and Telluride area

  9. He is dyslexic

  10. Jay used to commute between Pittsburgh and Tokyo every six weeks for 2 years and can speak fluent Pittsburgh-ese

  11. Jay changed his college undergraduate major 5 times

  12. Jay has held positions in sales, systems engineering, international business development, marketing, product management, competitive intelligence, instructor, and has held Executive positions in large, medium, and start-up companies.

  13. Jay has lived in 7 different cities over the course of his life
